What this website's booking system stores about you, why it stores it, how long it is kept, and what is never done with it.

What the booking system stores

  • Your name, so a booking or an enquiry has somebody attached to it.
  • Your e-mail address and telephone number, so the arrival note and, if something changes, a person can reach you.
  • The dates you request or book, and the party size, which is what the calendar and the quote are built from.
  • The IP address of the request, kept as spam protection on the booking and enquiry forms rather than for any other purpose.

That is the whole list. Nothing else about a visit to this website is recorded beyond what an ordinary web server logs for any request, and nothing on this site loads an advertising pixel, a tracking tag, or a script that follows a visitor to the next page they open after this one.

How long it is kept

A booking's details are kept for as long as the stay or the event they belong to might reasonably need to be looked up again, and are then removed. An enquiry that does not turn into a booking is kept only long enough to answer it. Because this is a demonstration rather than a live business, nothing here is retained for accounting, tax or legal reasons a real guest house would have, and nothing is kept for longer than running the demonstration in front of you requires.

What is never done with it

Nothing recorded by this booking system is sold, rented or shared with anybody outside the small number of people who would need it to answer a real enquiry on a real guest house's behalf. There is no mailing list built from a booking form, and nothing typed into a form here is used for anything other than making the calendar, the quote and the confirmation work in front of you.

Asking what is held, or asking for it to be removed

Write to guesthouse@bestdealwebdesign.com or telephone 000-000-0000 and ask. On a real booking system that request would be answered by looking up your own record; on this demonstration it is answered honestly, which is that the record most likely does not outlive the demonstration itself.

Demonstration website. This is a demonstration website. Woodside Guest House is not a real guest house, no booking made on this site reserves a bed anywhere, no enquiry reaches an events manager, and the telephone number is a placeholder. It was built to show what a small hospitality business gets for a fixed price.
