The Loft Apartment
The top of the house, under the roof, with skylights on both slopes and a mezzanine over the sitting room. It is the smallest and the cheapest and it has the best light in the building from about four in the afternoon.
Who the loft apartment suits
One or two people who do not mind stairs, and who would rather spend the difference on dinner.
Five steps up the stoop and two flights of internal stairs. The second flight is steep and turns.

- Under the ridge, with a skylight on each slope and a ladder-stair to the mezzanine. The ceiling slopes below six feet at the edges.
- Kitchen
- Along one wall: two rings, a combination oven, a full refrigerator and a dishwasher drawer. It is a real kitchen and it is not a large one.
- Bedroom
- A queen bed under the west slope, with a blackout blind on the skylight.
- Mezzanine
- A single mattress on a platform over the sitting room, reached by a ladder-stair. It is a bed for one person who is comfortable on a ladder.
- Bathroom
- A shower, a basin, and a lavatory under the slope. Standing height is over the shower tray only.

- The ceiling slopes: standing height runs down the middle of the rooms, not to the walls

An apartment is not the house. An apartment booking is a private apartment, not a private house: the other two apartments may be let on the same nights, and the garden, the stoop and the stair are shared. The whole-house let is the one that takes the building off sale.
